  • Applications for PGY1 are accepted only through ERAS.
  • For the 2024 ERAS® cycle, our program will be participating in the supplemental ERAS application offered through the AAMC’s ERAS program. Applicants will be required to complete the MyERAS application, and participation in the supplemental ERAS application is optional.
  • If you are being considered for an interview, you will receive an email with a link to complete an additional assessment.

Department of Surgery Selection Policy

Candidates for graduate medical education in the Department of Surgery are eligible for appointment if they meet the requirements for OU-TU School of Community Medicine Resident Eligibility and the following departmental requirements:

  • Have successfully passed USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK 
  • Have three (3) letters of recommendation
  • Have not been out of medical school more than three years
  • Graduates of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine in the US accredited by AOA who have completed all requirements required by Oklahoma to obtain licensure prior to matriculating into our residency program including passage of COMLEX 1 and 2, will be considered.

Department of Surgery Interview Dates

The Department of Surgery schedules interviews beginning in October of every year. All interviews for the 2023-2024 recruitment season will be virtual.
