Medical Students
Residents interact with 3rd year medical and PA students frequently in the ambulatory setting, and with 4th year students during their sub-internships in the ambulatory center and in the hospital. Senior residents also have an opportunity to “attend” 3rd year student teams while they are in their Bedlam longitudinal clinic, providing care for uninsured members of the Tulsa community. Many of our residents have been formally recognized as outstanding teachers by the medical students, winning Aesculapian and Crimson Apple awards.
Sub-Internships:
We offer sub-internship experiences to 4th year students. The four week experience is arranged to mirror our mini-block schedule as much as possible, with two weeks in ambulatory clinic, and two weeks with our combined inpatient/obstetrics team. We try to limit this to four students per month, in order to ensure a high quality experience. Applications should be made through VSAS.
