Oklahoma Advancing Indoor Environment Research (OK-AIR)

The ECEI was awarded a grant from the Oklahoma Clearinghouse for Early Childhood Success, a program of the Oklahoma Partnership for School Readiness. The "Oklahoma Advancing Indoor Environment Research" project is a two-and-a-half-year intervention which kicked off in the summer of 2023.

The OK-AIR project will examine air quality in both urban and rural early childhood classrooms to determine if varying methods of air cleaning are effective in improving indoor air quality and in reducing teacher and child absences in early childhood programs. For Year One, five Head Start programs in Muskogee, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa will participate in the project. In Year Two, we will reach out to rural early childhood Head Start programs to participate.

Diane Horm serves as Principal Investigator with Dr. Changjie Cai (OU-HSC) as Co-Principal Investigator. The full team is listed below.
