We aspire to become a community of learners who engage in transformative scholarship with and in communities to advance justice and promote human dignity.
The Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education has provided me with an abundance of impactful experiences. Still, the ones that have shaped my perspective on teaching most are my placements in the local classrooms. I have been placed in a total of six schools, in a variety of grade levels and classrooms. It is through this direct observation of my mentor teachers and interactions with students that I have developed a new perspective about education. I am eager to apply this new understanding in my classroom for years to come.
Joining the Learning Experience Design and Technology Ph.D. program at the JRCoE has profoundly ignited my passion for researching ways to create inclusive and engaging learning environments while simultaneously deepening my understanding of instructional design principles. One of my main goals is to develop and implement design projects, online platforms, or course curriculum that enhances learning accessibility and engagement for diverse populations. One aspect that inspired me to expand my research scope is the launch of the inquiry group involving our faculty and students from various disciplines, which meets weekly to provide opportunities for engaging in and developing interdisciplinary collaborations.
