Rachel Ewing is an undergraduate student in the Social Work program at OU–Tulsa with plans to continue into the master’s program after graduation. Rachel is driven by a desire to create meaningful change. She chose social work to make an immediate impact within her local community and help individuals recognize their own strength and autonomy. Rachel credits the program’s dedicated faculty and real-world learning opportunities with preparing her to become a future social worker committed to serving others.
Shelley Tummons, a nurse from Sapulpa, Oklahoma, has returned to school at OU-Tulsa to expand her ability to care for others through the social work program. She is preparing to serve populations that are often overlooked, with a particular focus on correctional settings. Through experiential learning opportunities and a flexible classroom schedule, Tummons is building the skills she'll need to make a difference in her community.
