The purpose of the AHFF program is to support dynamic and innovative research and creative activity projects proposed by regular faculty in the arts, fine arts, and humanities by providing them the opportunity to focus on a scholarly and/or creative activity that significantly transforms the faculty member’s research program and makes notable contributions to their field. | |
The Faculty Investment Program (FIP), operated by the Norman Campus Research Council, provides funding on a competitive basis to develop and expand the scholarly, i.e., research and creative, activities of Norman campus researchers, including researchers associated with Norman campus programs at OU-Tulsa. FIP is designed to provide maximum flexibility in meeting faculty needs via strategic investment of funds with a high degree of expectation and accountability. Ultimately, FIP is expected to enhance the national and international reputation of the University of Oklahoma via excellence in scholarship. | |
All faculty at the rank of assistant professor and above are invited to submit applications to the Faculty Senate for the Ed Cline Faculty Development Awards. The faculty development fund was created by President Boren to provide support to enhance the professional development of the faculty. In 2008, the awards were named after Prof. Ed Cline (Mathematics) who while Chair of the Faculty Senate during 2002-03 was instrumental in their creation. | |

Here, you will find links to the M.A. / Ph.D. handbooks, links to model dissertations, theses, and comprehensive porfolios, as well as a set of resources from the graduate college, which provide guidance for the exam process, explicit timeframes/deadlines, and other useful information as you mentor your graduate students.
Additionally, being aware of major/minor requirements can be incredibly helpful in mentoring undergraduate students in particular.
The current comprehensive exam process requires the completion of a portfolio, with discrete sections as outlined in the Ph.D. handbook. This approach is comparatively new and a few Ph.D. candidates/graduates have agreed to make available a couple of models by providing access to their own portfolios through this resource page. Graduate Degree Management Specialist (GDMS) | A graduate degree management specialist (GDMS) responds to student, faculty, and staff academic inquiries, maintains student records, and conducts degree audits for graduate certificates, master's degrees, and doctoral degree programs. Questions for the graduate college often should be sent to your associated GDMS. The GDMS for English is Hannah James. |
