TE+ Program

The TE+ Program

Get your BA in English and get certified for teaching.

Program Details

The Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education’s (JRCoE) Language Arts Education TE+ program requires 38 hours of coursework to be completed alongside the major requirements in English. The program contains three formal field experiences where students are placed in educational environments representing rural, urban, and suburban settings. These field experiences are tied to coursework completed through the JRCoE. The program culminates with a 16-week student teaching to be completed once all degree program requirements for their English major have been met. Students will earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, and upon successful completion of the full-time student teaching internship, will receive a recommendation for Language Arts certification in the state of Oklahoma. Language Arts teaching can include reading, English, composition, and literature (including American, British and World Literature) for grades six through twelve after completing the program and passing required state certification exams (OSAT and PPAT).
