Dr. Kent Teague, the OU-Tulsa Assistant Vice President for Research, leads the research efforts on the Tulsa campus.
Health Sciences Center Programs at OU-Tulsa
The Vice President for Research at the OU Health Sciences Center oversees and manages administration for all research activities at OUHSC and works with university leadership to establish research and scientific development priorities. The VPR oversees the Office of Research Administration, Comparative Medicine, and OUHSC Core Laboratories.
The Office of Research Administration (ORA) serves as a central resource to faculty and staff of both the Oklahoma City and Tulsa Health Sciences Center campuses for all aspects of research and service contracts.
Each faculty member is assigned a sponsored programs administrator (SPA) who provides assistance with the internal routing process. The SPA provides broad support with proposal preparation and form completion, and proposal review and sign-off.
Once the sponsored programs research is approved for funding, the SPA prepares, reviews, and negotiates incoming grant-related contracts and subawards. They also provide post-award assistance with rebudgets requiring sponsor approval, extensions, and carry-forward requests and compliance.

The Office for Research Development and Scholarly Activity (ORDSA) is available to support OU-TU School of Community Medicine faculty, residents, and students in their research and scholarly endeavors.
Services include:
- Individualized research consulting
- Research study design and methodology
- Specialized funding searches
- Sponsored grant assistance for research coordinators
- Statistical analysis support
The HRPP is the University's established program designed to support the University's commitment to the protection of human participants in research. The IRB is responsible for reviewing research submissions that involve human subjects and assess that it adequately meets the criteria for approval set forth by the federal regulations, state law, and OU policies and procedures.

Norman Campus Programs at OU-Tulsa
The Vice President for Research, Norman Campus (including Norman Campus Programs at OU-Tulsa), is responsible for the development and/or dissemination of official policies in the research and creative activity arena, as well as the facilitation of faculty, student and staff scholarship in all disciplines represented on the Norman Campus.
The Vice President for Research coordinates with other vice presidents to identify funding for research and creative endeavors, both in and outside the University, works closely with the Research Council, assists with the development and enhancement of research laboratories and facilities, and formally oversees Norman Campus Core Facilities.

The Office of Research Services at the Norman campus assists OU-Tulsa faculty with proposal development and award administration of sponsored programs research.
Each faculty member is assigned a proposal development specialist who provides assistance with the internal routing process. Take a look at the ORS proposal process overview for more detailed pre-award information.
Once the sponsored programs research is approved for funding, your assigned sponsored program coordinator reviews, negotiates, and accepts all related contractual agreements and subcontracts. Once the work begins, your assigned financial coordinator assists with financial reporting, cash management, expenditure monitoring and reviewing, and compliance.
