Price Summer 2019

Price College of Business Summer 2019 E-News

Welcome

Welcome to the Summer 2019 issue of Price E-News. We just finished such a huge spring semester, that this issue is packed with news! First off, as the recently named interim dean of the Michael F. Price College of Business, one of my first orders of business was to identify a successor. I am excited to announce that faculty member Karen Hennes has been named interim director of the John T. Steed School of Accounting. Please welcome her aboard in her new capacity, and feel free to read more in our recent SOA Summer 2019 E-Newsletter. Thanks to your votes this spring, I'm happy to announce that the Gene Rainbolt Graduate School of Business has received this year's Reader Rankings Top Winner Award for MBA Program by the Journal Record, which was announced Thursday, June 20.

And speaking of awards, we’d like congratulate our own Beth Gatewood, Executive Director for Finance and Operations, who received the distinguished Jennifer L. Wise Good Stewardship Award from the University of Oklahoma during its annual staff awards presentation. This much deserved award recognizes outstanding contributions made by staff who demonstrate the qualities associated with good stewardship. Additionally, Price College held its annual staff awards luncheon in May; click here to see a full list of award recipients. Thanks to all our staff who work hand-in-hand every day with our faculty and students!

What follows are just a few examples of how our students, faculty and staff fulfill the Purpose of Price® every day.

OU Giving Day

The University of Oklahoma’s single day of campus-wide giving is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 10, and once again, we’ll be calling on our partners for support. Just like last year, OU Giving Day provides numerous opportunities for supporting scholarships and programs at Price, at any level, so please keep an eye out for that. In the meantime, we invite you to consider giving to our Momentum Scholarships, which support undergraduate students, or our Do More Sooner® Scholarships for MBA students. With your help, students can focus more on their studies and less on financial concerns while obtaining the education necessary for success. Thank you for your support!
