ALBERT B. SCHWARZKOPF
Associate Professor of Management Information Systems
PhD (Virginia) . Professor Schwarzkopf has a long-standing interest in teaching and research in the areas of database and enduser computing applications. Originally trained as a mathematician, he spent 15 years in OU's mathematics department. In 1984, he transferred to the College of Business Administration and helped to establish the MIS program. Positions he's held at OU include director of the Division of Management, director of the Statistics Consulting Laboratory, statistician for the Information Systems Program Office and, most recently, director of the Telecomputing Degree Program. He has been heavily involved in the development and teaching of the MIS curriculum at OU. Professor Schwarzkopf has had a number of service roles and honors, including chair of the University Faculty Senate, the University Computing Committee and coach of OU's Women's Club soccer team. He was twice selected as the outstanding business faculty member by students. Professor Schwarzkopf 's research interests include decision support and end-user computing in MIS and systems modeling in production operations management and general business. He has obtained several grants for research in various facets of MIS and business studies. His articles have been published in Research Policy, International Journal of Production Research, Journal of Business Logistics and Communications of the ACM, among others.
