Message from the Conference Director: Sandy Vo

My name is Sandy Vo, and I am honored to serve as a co-Director of Conferences for the 2024-25 academic year. My main responsibility this year is to plan this fall’s Women in Business Leadership Conference. The JCPenney Leadership Program strives to create the most impactful conference experience possible, and as a first-generation Asian American, GenZ woman, this year’s theme is very special to me. I am delighted to share that this year’s conference will focus on “Exploring the Complexity of Workplace Culture”. We have a phenomenal keynote speaker, and attendees will be able to choose from three panels that will explore three different aspects of workplace culture: generational diversity, international diversity, and the shift from life in college to life in the business world.

This conference's goal is to enable attendees to identify the various obstacles that accompany working in a diverse workplace and recognize the benefits of cultural awareness in its broadest sense. A variety of speakers and panelists will share how their personal experiences have affected their professional career growth and what skillsets they have discovered and developed to be culturally competent leaders. You will also have the opportunity to connect and build your network with other professionals passionate about supporting and empowering women in the professional world. I invite you to attend this wonderful event, and I am confident you will leave better prepared for the diverse business world that awaits us!
