Get excited, because the JCPenney Leadership Program’s annual Women in Business Leadership Conference is fast approaching! The event will take place on November 21 from 8:30am to 1:00pm in the Thurman J. White Forum Building. We will begin the day with registration and breakfast, followed by opening remarks from our JCPLP Director and one of our wonderful sponsors. We will then have a meaningful presentation from our keynote speaker, two fruitful panel discussions of the attendees’ choice, and a networking activity and lunch. The conference will conclude with closing remarks from our second amazing sponsor, the conference director, and the director of our next upcoming conference.
This year, our theme for the conference is: “Resilience: Forging Your Own Path in the Workplace.” Navigating the transition from university to the workforce and then succeeding professionally after college can be challenging, and it can often be difficult to know where to start, how to best prepare yourself, and how to ensure you succeed once you take that initial step onto your first career path. During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with our passionate, accomplished, and inspiring speakers in various panels that will center around resilience from three different perspectives: preparing for and entering your first career, succeeding in the corporate world, and excelling as an entrepreneur. Our hope is that all attendees, women and men, will leave this conference with the insight and direction they need to feel empowered as they journey from campus to career and beyond.
Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Amanda Penrod, professional leadership coach and CEO and Founder of RFX Solutions. RFX Solutions is a company that provides software as a service (SAAS) to healthcare facilities to help them streamline and successfully manage regulatory compliance processes, so that they can focus on using their resources more efficiently, maintaining regulatory transparency, and creating a culture that centers around safety.
