The Office of Export Controls offers online training through CITI Program for our faculty, researchers, staff and students. The CITI Export Compliance Course consists of modules covering export controls and how these regulations interact with the many different aspects of the University. Each module includes a brief quiz, and participants will receive a certificate of completion upon completing all modules. The Office of Export Controls is available for individualized training on export controls and sanctions. If you would like to schedule a session for your college, department, program, or project, please contact the Office of Export Controls at export@ou.edu.
To comply with the research security training requirements designated by the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022 and National Security Presidential Memorandum (NSPM) 33, the Office of Export Controls and Secure Research Operations has developed a supplemental research security training module. This module, in combination with OU’s established trainings for researchers, administrators, and other staff involved in the research lifecycle, will satisfy the necessary training on the topics of:
Some Federal funding agencies will begin to flow this requirement down in their grants and contracts starting in May of 2025. Those individuals conducting or facilitating research will be required to have this training completed prior to the start of the award. Training assignments will begin on April 7, 2025, and renewals will required as dictated by our federal sponsors.
