OU Giving Day 2025 Raises $30 Million in Support of Students, Faculty, Programs

The University of Oklahoma has set a record for fundraising in a single day, raising more than $30 million during Giving Day 2025. Supporters from all 50 states and 21countries across the globe contributed nearly 7,000 gifts in recognition of the April 8 event.

Big things are happening at OU’s Max Westheimer Airport! ✈️

Groundbreaking has officially begun for a new 108-foot control tower, more than double the height of the existing facility. Set to be completed by summer 2027, this upgrade will significantly boost airspace safety, modernize operations and ensure environmental efficiency.

We also cut the ribbon on the airport's new corporate hangar project. Adding 20,000 sq. ft. of space, these hangars will house our growing @OU_Aviation fleet and attract new aeronautical businesses. Thanks to ODAA, FAA, the Pigman family, and the airport fund for making this possible.

These projects align with our commitment to strategic growth, vital partnerships, and the broader vision for aerospace excellence in Oklahoma.

Special thanks to our partners at ODAA, FAA, Rep. Tom Cole, and the late Sen. Jim Inhofe for their support and dedication in making this integral progress a reality.

The University of Oklahoma’s official day of service, The Big Event, returns Saturday, April 5! The @oubigevent leadership team has been hard at work preparing for this special day, and they’ve already been out serving, recently volunteering at @wildcareoklahoma (as seen above!).

We couldn’t be more excited to see the full impact our students will make in the community. ❤️

Barring any major weather changes, The Big Event is still on! The opening ceremony will now be held inside the OU Armory, located near the northwest end of Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

While volunteer registration is closed, you can still support Big Event by visiting ou.edu/bigevent to learn how to get involved in other ways.
