As we welcome the largest group of first-year students in our university’s history, we’re energized by the potential they bring and the success they’ll achieve both inside and outside the classroom. These students are joining a university deeply committed to preparing them for impactful careers, lifelong learning, and leadership in a rapidly evolving world. Their decision to choose OU speaks to the lasting value of an education that leads to real-world success and a life of purpose.

I chose to attend OU due to several factors, one of which was my acceptance into OU’s Medical Humanities Scholars Program, a program housed within OU’s Honors College that encourages interdisciplinary learning while providing students with provisional acceptance to OU’s College of Medicine. OU and OU’s Honors College are home to a staggering amount of research and study abroad opportunities that I also wanted to be a part of. Coupled with OU’s scholarship opportunities and stunning campus, I felt that OU would be the right home for me.

When I was preparing to go to college, I knew I wanted to study engineering. OU stood out to me because of its strong sense of community, the variety of engineering majors, the opportunities within the College of Engineering, and the scholarship I was offered. I appreciated the family-like atmosphere at OU, especially compared to other schools that felt impersonal. I'm more confident than ever in my decision to attend OU.
