The Graduate Student Senate (GSS) represents every graduate student enrolled in any of the programs offered by the Graduate College at the University of Oklahoma, giving them an official voice. Additionally, each year a substantial portion of the SGA budget is allocated to GSS for two important initiatives: Awards and Grants. Bi-weekly meetings are held on Thursdays at 7:00 P.M. through Zoom.
The Senate is composed of graudate students who represent academic departments at the OU-Norman campus.
Every member of GSS sits on 1 of 8 standing committees which oversee projects and legislative review.
GSS general meetings take place on Zoom every other Thursday at 7:00 P.M. during the academic year.
One of GSS's main task is to allocate SGA funds towards graduate student conference, travel, and research grants as well as graduate student and teaching awards.

The Graduate Student Senate (GSS) annually awards graduate students in the following categories: Outstanding Teaching Assistant, Outstanding Research Assistant, Outstanding Graduate Student.
