Since 1969, the University of Oklahoma Student Government Association (OU SGA) has continued the legacy for the student body at the OU-Norman campus. The SGA allows students to organize and make a difference in their academic and extracurricular experience. We serve and advocate for the student body for the importance of higher education, campus saftey and policies, extracurricular involvement, and academic excellence.

The Undergraduate Student Congress of the Student Government Association is the House of the Legislative Branch. The members are comprised of 48 representative from each academic district as well as non-voting members who carry out projects to help the student body.
The Campus Activities Council (CAC) was founded in 1971, and is the programming branch of SGA. CAC is responsible for programming inclusive, campus-wide events that serve all students. As an organization, we initiate and implement quality campus-wide programs throughout the academic year to all facets of campus life.
The Graduate Student Senate (GSS) represents every graduate student enrolled in any of the programs offered by the Graduate College at the University of Oklahoma, giving them an official voice. Additionally, each year a substantial portion of the SGA budget is allocated to GSS for two important initiatives: Awards and Grants.
The Student Government Association would like to honor and recognize the rich heritage and traditions of the land and its peoples on which we are gathered today.
Long before David Ross Boyd envisioned the University of Oklahoma, the land on which we gather today served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst many Indigenous peoples. Tribes such as the Caddo and Wichita and Affiliated tribes called this land home long before the University of Oklahoma was established. Today, 39 tribal nations dwell within the state of Oklahoma as a result of policies that were designed to assimilate Native people and strip them of their diverse and sacred cultures and traditions.
This land acknowledgment statement is a public expression of gratitude and honor for the people who have been living on and cultivating this land from time immemorial. Today, many Native people represent their families and tribes from across the land as Indigenous students, faculty and staff here at the University of Oklahoma.
The Student Government Association would like to acknowledge that today... We are visitors on this land. We are thankful for the privilege and opportunity to be visitors.
