Student Elections

Twice a year, the Student Government Association hosts elections open to the entirety of the student body to partake in. The Election Commission, led by its commissioner, are responsible for enforcing the rules found in the Code Annotated Title VI.

The Fall General Elections are held on the Tuesday and Wednesday of the eleventh (11th) academic week in the Fall Semester. During this time, the SGA President and Vice President, as well as representative in the Undergraduate Student Congress are elected.

The Spring General Elections are held on the Tuesday and Wednesday of the eleventh (11th) academic week in the Spring Semester. During this time, the Chair of the Campus Activites Council the Student Bar Association President, as well as representative in the Undergraduate Student Congress are elected.

Am I Eligible to Vote?

If you are an enrolled student at the University of Oklahoma-Norman Campus, then you are automatically registered, and of course encouraged, to vote in student-wide elections. There are different eligibility requirements for voting in SGA elections.

  • SGA President/Vice President and CAC Chair: All students enrolled on the Norman campus can vote, including graduate students and law students.
  • Student Congress representatives: Undergraduates can vote for candidates within their academic district.
  • Student Bar Association President: Law students can vote.

Fall 2024 Election Information

President and Vice President

Filing for President and Vice President has closed. Voting will take place on October 29-30. The ticket for Carter Strickland and Avery Dunlap is running unopposed. Voters will have the option to prefer to not vote.
