How to Apply
Admission to the online M.S. in Finance is selective and requires evidence of strong quantitative abilities. Because the program is designed to provide additional expertise in finance to professionals at all stages of their careers, professional work experience is not required for admission.
The admissions committee does however, require the following:

Create and validate your account, then begin the application. Under “Campus Selection”, select Norman, and then select the M.S. in Finance.
- BS or BA from an accredited institution. The committee will specifically review GPA’s in quantitative coursework.
- GRE/GMAT score - Applicants are asked to take the GMAT/GRE exam unless they are eligible for the requirement to be waived based upon prior scholastic performance.
- Two Letters of Recommendation – the letters should be from a direct supervisor, faculty member, or colleague
a. Students who have been out of school for more than three years will not be required to provide educational recommendations. - Personal Statement – in a separate document, please answer the following questions:
a. Why does the M.S. in Finance program interest you and what do you hope to accomplish by obtaining the degree? (500 word maximum)
b. What are your top three educational goals while in the M.S. in Finance program? (250 word maximum)
c. How will you balance the demands of the program with your professional and personal life? (250 word maximum)
d. What drew you to the University of Oklahoma M.S. in Finance program? (250 word maximum) - International applicants must receive a TOEFL score of 600 or higher on the paper-based test (250 on the computer, 100 on the internet-based test) sent directly from the Educational Testing Service to Institution Code: 6879.
Other Notes:
- Transfer credits will be at the discretion of the online committee.
- Once accepted, to reserve a spot in the upcoming class, students are required to submit a deposit of $500.
