2017 Celebration of Education in Oklahoma
Supporters of education from around the state gathered in the Molly Shi Boren Ballroom at the Oklahoma Memorial Union on Friday, March 31, for the annual Celebration of Education in Oklahoma, hosted by the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education.
Gene Rainbolt served as guest speaker of the event, receiving the Award of Distinction. Rainbolt and his family are long-time supporters of the college, making a gift to OU to honor the life and carry forth the legacy of the late Jeannine Rainbolt, an OU education alumna. Rainbolt served as chair of the JRCoE's portion of the "Live On, University" campaign that helped raise $10 million in funds for the Debt-Free Teachers program, scholarships and faculty support.
