Your degree and get certified for teaching.
Are you interested in becoming a teacher? If so, we encourage you to consider a TE+ Certification with the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education (JRCoE). Students majoring in a teachable subject area with the Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences or the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication are eligible to apply and can receive up to $65,000 in scholarships and incentives.
Students pursuing teacher certification with the JRCoE will earn a degree in their respective major area while simultaneously completing up to 38 hours of Education coursework (think of this as adding a minor) leading to a traditional secondary (6-12th grade) certification in the state of Oklahoma.
The JRCoE is nationally accredited through the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), which means students who graduate with a recommendation from our college are eligible to teach anywhere in the United States, its territories, or the world.
Contact the Undergraduate Advising Office at jrcoe.advising@ou.edu or (405) 325-2238 to get started.
It pays to join the College of Ed! Click here to see how you can qualify for a Debt-Free education.
Students pursuing a TE+ Certification must apply for full admission to the JRCoE before enrolling in Education courses. New students will also attend the JRCoE Undergraduate Student Orientation to receive their iPad. Full Admission is offered four times a year: January, March, August, and October.
