Letter from Gaylord Community and Activities Director: Deyna Aragon

Letter from Deyna Aragon

Gaylord Community and Activities Director

Hello, Gaylord College alumni!

In April 2021, I moved to Oklahoma from El Paso, Texas. I was born and raised in El Paso. I earned my bachelor’s degree in organizational and corporate communication and my master’s degree in higher education administration from The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). While at UTEP, I found a passion in working with students and helping them find connections in their skills and abilities to the careers they aspired to. This passion allowed me the honor and privilege of working with different colleges on the UTEP campus as an academic advisor.

In the 7 years I have worked in higher education, I have served a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and alumni thus preparing me for the role I serve today. As the new Community and Activities Director, it is my personal mission to connect students with opportunities to help them thrive, to help them develop their skills, to help them connect their abilities to their careers. It is my personal mission to foster the environment to help them succeed and become lifelong learners.

I am so incredibly excited to partner with GCAA in order to evolve opportunities and programming for Gaylord students, faculty, staff and alumni to collaborate. To foster the continued emergence of storytellers, thinkers, creators, and innovators.

I am humbled by the opportunity to work with you all and I look forward to what we will create, together!

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, feedback, or ideas, I welcome it all!

Thank you for the opportunity to serve the college with you!
