A former University of Oklahoma journalism school distinguished alumnus award winner has died.
Paul Douglas (Doug) Mayberry, 92, died this June in Carlsbad, California.
Mayberry was a 2001 recipient of the journalism school's Distinguished Alumnus award, given by Jaymac, now the Gaylord College Alumni Association.
Mayberry worked for the Los Angeles Times for 35 years, concluding his career there as Syndication Director.
Mayberry loved the University of Oklahoma and was a lifelong fan of the Sooners.
