The William Kerber Scholars Program is an exclusive group of up to five (5) appointed undergraduate Computer Science (CS) students who serve as paid tutors for the School of Computer Science. Kerber Scholars undergo a highly-intensive review process that is very competitive, given that those ultimately selected receive a monthly stipend award for committing to 20 hours per week (0.50 FTE) for the semester in which they serve. The length of service for a Kerber Scholar can be repeated once appointed. New candidates for consideration qualify by meeting the requirements below:
If you meet the qualifications above and are interested in being considered, please email cs@ou.edu with your name, OU I.D.#, GPAs, and standing (Sophomore, Junior, Senior). Review periods for semester appointments take place in late Spring for the subsequent Fall semester and late Fall for the subsequent Spring semester (or as needed). International students that are selected to be a Kerber Scholar must take and pass the English Communication Capacity/ECC test before being able to serve; the department (CS) will cover the cost of this exam given the student meets the other requirements above and is ultimately selected.
*If you are not selected as a Kerber Scholar, we will retain your interest for future selection periods as well as for other possible department employment and service opportunities.
Kerber Scholar are here for you!
