Pavement Materials and Systems Group

The Pavement Materials and Systems Group (PMSG) at the University of Oklahoma,Norman is a multi-disciplinary group of faculty, staff and students(graduate and undergraduate) engaged in research, education and scholarship, advancing new ideas, developing innovative and implementable technologies, materials and methods.

The group works closely with mission agencies(specifically state Departments of Transportation, Department of Environmental Quality and Federal Highway Administration) and the industry, to not only develop and support its research program but to pursue workforce development, training and technology transfer activities. The annual funding(expenditures) of the group is more than $1 million. The PMSG seeks collaboration with other groups, institutions, companies and agencies. GeoChina 2018

July 23-25, 2018, HangZhou, China

The 5th GeoChina International Conference on Civil Infrastructures Confronting Severe Weathers and Climate Changes: From Failure to Sustainability will be held in HangZhou, China from July 23 to 25, 2018. Southern Plains Transportation Center (SPTC), led by the University of Oklahoma (OU), is one of the co-sponsor of this international conference. GeoChina 2018 will showcase recent developments and advancements in design, construction, and safety inspections of transportation infrastructures and offer a forum to discuss and debate future directions for the 21st century. Conference topics cover a broad array of contemporary issues for professionals involved in bridge, pavement, geotechnical, tunnel, railway, and emerging techniques for safety inspections. Participants will have the opportunity to meet colleagues from all over the world for technical, scientific, and commercial discussions. The OU Pavement Materials and Systems Group (PMSG) will present several technical papers at this conference. Hangzhou is renowned for its historic relics and natural beauty. It is known as one of the most beautiful cities in China, also ranking as one of the most scenic cities. It is an industrial city with many diverse sectors such as light industry, agriculture, and textiles. It is considered an important manufacturing base and logistics hub for coastal China.
