Dr. Kazempoor serves as an Associate Professor and Director of the Sustainable Energy and Carbon Management Center (https://www.secm.tech/) at OU, specializing in sustainable energy systems. His research primarily focuses on hydrogen energy, energy storage, carbon capture, and electrochemical technologies. He has led numerous projects, securing funding from federal and state agencies as well as receiving significant private sector support. His notable achievements have been recognized with several prestigious awards. Before his tenure at the University of Oklahoma, Dr. Kazempoor contributed to R&D at Baker Hughes and GE Global Research, focusing on taking early-stage technologies from the conceptual stage to full commercialization with the business units. His efforts were acknowledged with the Baker Hughes Technology Excellence Award for his pivotal role in the company's success and technological advancements., Dr. Kazempoor is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Gas Science and Engineering - Elsevier and has guest-edited for several journals. His scholarly output includes over 70 publications in leading national and international journals and conferences, in addition to holding numerous patents and patent applications in sustainable energy solutions.
