Bio

Dr. Alisa Javadi is currently an assistant professor at the University of Oklahoma. He has a joint appointment between the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Department of Physics. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, in 2015. He has been a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Copenhagen and at the University of Basel. His research on single-photon sources recently led to a record-breaking single-photon source based on a quantum dot in an optical microcavity. Some of the other outcomes of his research include demonstrating identical photons from remote quantum emitters and the demonstration of photonic bound states using an artificial atom. Dr. Javadi has co-authored more than 30 articles and has a H-index of 19. He has received a number of awards and grants, including a Marie Skłodowska-Curie postdoctoral fellowship from the European Commission, and a starting grant from the European Research Council (ERC Starting). He is leading the Photonic Quantum Technologies group at OU. His research group seeks to develop novel light sources with quantum properties and also explores the potential of quantum light for meteorology and communication.
