Students and professors work in the community garden

Pollinator Garden Workshop

The Environmental Studies Pollinator Gardenn is a project of the Learning Community class and has been  arried forward ovr several semesters. It is part of OU Fit & Rec's community garden initiative (see below).

In spring 2024, students put on an educational workshop about native pollinators in Oklahoma. Projects like this introduce the interdisciplinary aspect of environmental studies. This semester's group included students studying various areas such as plant biology, policy and engineering.

"It's not really about who you are or what you want to do, but rather about the impact that you want to achieve," said Madison Caputo, a junior double majoring in enviornmental studies and political science.

OU Community Garden

In partnership with OU Fit+Rec, the Community Garden teaches participants where their food comes from and how to cultivate environmental stewardship. Students can sign up through OU Fit+Rec.
