We want you to explore OU, to really get a hands-on experience with our faculty, staff, and students, and the best way to do that is by attending one of our on-campus events! We offer a variety of events you can attend throughout the year.

High School Seniors & Transfers

Pick a date and kickoff your OU experience on campus at a Future Sooner Friday event! At Future Sooner Friday, you will tour our beautiful campus, "tailgate" with fellow Future Sooners, and connect directly with your academic college of interest and supportive campus resources. Wear your crimson and cream and don’t miss out on your chance to receive your exclusive event foam finger. Get excited to see what our university has to offer Future Sooners while experiencing campus the day before a big football game!

Whether you are a veteran, active duty, reservist, guardsman, a spouse, or a dependent, we value your service and sacrifices and want to support you in your pursuit of higher education.

Don't miss out on our virtual and in-person Oklahoma Military Week opportunities where you can learn more about OU and how the university assists our military-connected population. 

Oklahoma Military Week

The Weekend Experience is a two-day, one-night adventure that gives students an in-depth look at life at the University of Oklahoma and why it could be their future home.

  • Campus Exploration: Discover the vibrant OU campus firsthand! Take guided tours, explore housing options, and connect directly with faculty from your desired academic programs.
  • Community Connections: Meet fellow prospective students and their families while engaging in fun activities that showcase OU’s rich culture and student life. Build friendships and find your community.
  • Make OU Your Reality: Learn the ins and outs of financing your education, navigating campus resources for underserved students, and accessing support programs that will empower you throughout your college journey.

Students must apply to attend and selection is based on academic eligibility. If selected, a $150 fee is required, which covers bus transportation in Norman, a one-night hotel stay, and meals for both the student and one guest.

Scholars' Day provides the opportunity for admitted scholar students to explore the premier academic opportunities, attend a mock lecture, engage with the honors college & learn about study abroad opportunities, along with much more! Join the Office of Admissions & Recruitment so we can showcase how you can leave your mark on our community, both inside and outside the classroom. 

FOR: Admitted students receiving specific scholarships to OU (National Merit Semifinalists, OU National Award Recipients, Oklahoma State Regents’ Academic Scholars Program Award, and Oklahoma State Regents’ Institutional Nominee Award).

Scholars' Day

The Gathering is a fun and casual event for incoming admitted freshman students interested in first-generation and underserved student connections. It is an opportunity to celebrate and kick off your admitted student weekend! During The Gathering, you can mingle with OU staff, current students, and different student organizations.

Admitted to OU?! We want to celebrate with you! During this event, you will learn more about what important steps to take post-admissions, explore all of our housing options ahead of room selection, connect with your academic area of interest, meet other future OU students, start your own campus adventure, ask questions, and celebrate making your college choice.

Admitted Student Day

Join us for a Concurrent Enrollment webinar to learn about starting your college experience sooner by enrolling in college classes and earning college credit while still in high school. We'll provide information about concurrent enrollment opportunities at OU at this webinar on select Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4 PM CT.

Sower's Day

We are bringing the best of OU to YOU! OU goes on the road with our ‘An Evening with OU’ event series. We will be hosting this event in Tulsa, Dallas, and Houston. These events are a special night to hear from OU President Joseph Harroz, Jr. and see why the OU family is an excellent choice for every students' futures. Attendees will also be able to engage with our faculty and staff representing our top programs and academic colleges.

An Evening with OU

Explore OU and the many ways we have equipped and prepared students from Native Nations for their college experience and beyond. Connect with various resources and support programs, explore campus community and engagement opportunities, and further explore the integral work of OU’s Native Nations Center on OU’s campus at this event.

This college preview program helps prospective high school juniors learn key developmental assets, network with other students, and develop a strong connection with the OU community. Our goal is to equip students to make the most informed college decision and become empowered leaders in their communities. At this event, students will have the opportunity to learn about OU campus resources and connect with underserved and first-generation students.

Sooner Saturday is OU's largest open house event for high school juniors! On Sooner Saturday, you will learn more about our amazing campus by going on a campus tour, viewing our various living communities, exploring the academic programs on campus, engaging with student organizations, gaining resources on paying for college, and more.

School partners & Community-based organizations

Join the Office of Admissions & Recruitment for our annual Crimson Summit. Learn more about our incredible programs to best assist the students and community you work with. You will be provided with a message from the 15th President of the University of Oklahoma, Joseph Harroz Jr.; learn about helpful resources for your students, engage with OU faculty, staff, and students over lunch and get behind the scenes tours of some of our new spaces/resource offices!

For: For high school principals, counselors, advisors, registrars, Indian Education Directors, Tribal Educators, community-based organizations, leaders, transfer institution partners, and superintendents.

Campus Partner Events

Event is planned and hosted by the Omega Delta Phi student organization at OU.

The TREE Conference is one of the largest high school educational empowerment conferences in Oklahoma for students from multiple backgrounds. The goal of the conference is to inform first-generation high school seniors of the numerous resources available to assist them as they prepare for the next step in life.

This conference is named in honor of Dr. Tomás Rivera, a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, who grew up working alongside his family as a migrant worker and who was later named the first minority chancellor at the University of California Riverside.

Event is planned and hosted by the Latinos Without Borders student organization at OU.

The mission of Latinos Without Borders is to bridge the educational gap by providing educational and professional resources to high school students. During the fall camp or spring  conference, you will receive a checklist to help guide you through the college application process, attend a resource fair and resume workshop, and have networking opportunities with current OU students and potential mentors.

Event is planned and hosted by the Center for Career & Major Exploration Office at OU.

The annual Majors/Minors Fair is your opportunity to visit with representatives from every major and minor program at OU. With over 170 different degree options, this event will help you know what is out there, and learn which major and minor best suits you. In addition to the Majors/Minors Fair, you can learn more about applying to OU, hear from a panel of current OU students, and if desired explore campus more through a campus tour.

Event is planned and hosted by OU’s Campus Activities Council High School Leadership Conference student organization at OU. 

CAC High School Leadership Conference is a three-day adventure into leadership for high school juniors from around the nation, held annually at the University of Oklahoma. HSLC aims to equip, empower and inspire high school juniors to return to their communities and make a positive impact. Founded in 1998, HSLC is completely student-run with an executive committee of over 100 University of Oklahoma students.
