We must become the change we want to see.
No man will make a great leader who wants to do it all himself, or to get all the credit for doing it.
You don't have to hold a position in order to be a leader.
A leader leads by example, whether (s)he intends to or not.
The first responsibility of a leader is to define reality. The last is to say 'thank you.' In between, the leader is a servant.
Lead and inspire people. Don't try to manage and manipulate people. Inventories can be managed but people must be led.
Nobody rises to low expectations.
Leaders must be close enough to relate to others, but far enough ahead to motivate them.
If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.
In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock.
Leadership is action, not position.
Mountaintops inspire leaders but valleys mature them.
It is not fair to ask of others what you are unwilling to do yourself.
Example is leadership.
A community is like a ship: Everyone ought to be prepared to take the helm.
What you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say.
Speak little, do much.
The truth of the matter is that you always know the right thing to do. The hard part is doing it.
Change your thoughts and you change your world.
No one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.
Believe in something larger than yourself.
And if not now, when?
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
