Individual Counseling

The Goddard Counseling Center provides brief individual counseling that focuses on helping you resolve your concern(s) through the use of a variety of approaches that each counselor has learned through years of experience and training. Common concerns of individuals seeking individual counseling include, but are not limited to: anxiety, depression, relationships, decision making, academic distress, bereavement, and adjustment issues. If you need more intensive suport or have longer-term counseling needs we can help connect you with referrals to community providers.

Individual Counseling Sessions:
· Take place 1-on-1 with one of our counselors
· Last approximately 45 minutes each
· Occur about once every 2-3 weeks, for a maximum of 12 sessions per academic year

New clients will be required to complete a 30-minute intake appointment prior to starting individual counseling. For more information on what to expect in the intake, click here.

To schedule an intake appointment, call our front desk at (405) 325-2911.

A lapse in attendance of individual counseling services of two months or more will result in a file closure. This policy enables us to continue to provide services efficiently to those clients on the individual counseling waitlist. If a client's file has been closed, and they wish to resume services, they can notify the front desk who will place the client on the individual counseling waitlist. They will then be assigned to a counselor by the triage team. The individual counseling waitlist is reviewed weekly by the triage team. Requests for specific counselors may result in increased wait times.
