Faculty and Staff

The University of Oklahoma College of Engineering was voted among U.S. News and World Report's BEST Grad Schools for Engineering in 2015. The OU-Tulsa Telecommunications Engineering Department is led by a widely recognized, highly regarded, dedciated team of top-ranked faculty members. Supportive staff assist faculty and students in a variety of important tasks, playing a pivotal role in the department's success.

Hazem Refai, WECAD Director

Dr. Hazem Refai is founding director of the WECAD (Wireless Electromagnetic Compliance and Design) center and has been awarded the Williams Professor of Telecommunication Networking in the Telecommunications Engineering Department at the University of Oklahoma. His research centers on RF/Optical wireless communications, intelligent transportation systems, electromagnetic compatability, medical wireless coexistence, and cognitive radios/networks. He has authored/co-authored more than 160 research articles and has been awarded over $5 million in sponsored research from the National Science Foundation, US Food and Drug Association, and Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

Sandra Arnett

Sandra Arnett is an administrative assistant to the director of Telecommunications Engineering for financial matters. She processes reimbursements, coordinates payroll, purchases equipment, and invoices vendors, as well as reconciles state and foundation accounts.

Renee Wagenblatt

Renee Wagenblatt is an administrative to the director of Telecommunications Engineering. Her focus is on academic and travel matters. She works with prospective students, coordinates research meetings, plans special projects, and manages various administrative tasks.
