Media Relations

OU-Tulsa Marketing and Communications is staffed by professionals with extensive experience working in and with members of the news media every day. In addition to issuing news releases and media advisories concerning items of journalistic interest happening on campus, we work with all local, national, and international news outlets to provide access to the wide array of experts that serve as faculty and staff at OU-Tulsa.

Members of the television, print, and online news media should direct all inquiries concerning stories or projects involving OU-Tulsa or an OU-Tulsa program to our Director of Communications Bonnie Rucker at brucker@ou.edu or by phone at (918) 660-3317.

If you are a faculty or staff member with a question about OU-Tulsa media relations, or you would like to reach out to a media organization about your program, event, or other item of interest, e-mail Bonnie or submit a marcomm request form.

Additionally, we serve our university community in creating properly branded communication and coordinate with those outside the community to help tell the OU-Tulsa story.

We love to help people talk about OU-Tulsa and represent the university in writing, photography, and through video. We'd love to talk to you about your project and help in any way we can. Please fill out our request form and we'll be in touch.

We do not charge for noncommercial work related to and for the benefit of the OU-Tulsa community.

While it can vary by project, a good rule of thumb is to contact us 2 to 4 weeks before any deadline. The earlier the better!

Yes, our team does need to review any marketing materials that are produced for OU-Tulsa. This ensures that brand standards are met and all copy and design are compliant. We are here to support you and ensure that your materials are consistent with the OU-Tulsa brand. Additionally, this allows for another set of eyes to review your materials giving you peace of mind for grammar and editing errors.
