The Queer Student Association (QSA) is a group undergrad and graduate students that work to build community amongst LGBTQ+ individuals and allies. From drag shows to Pride to social media campaigns and community events, there are always ways to get connected with QSA.
The mission of the Queer Student Association is to foster an inclusive environment that supports, advocates for, and educates about the LGBTQ+ community at the University of Oklahoma.

The LGBTQIA+ Student Welcome is the first event hosted by QSA during Camp Crimson. This is a chance for first-year students to connect with fellow students, faculty, and staff, and start building an affirming and supportive community. Free snacks, shirts, swags, and other resources will be available for students.

Crimson & Queens is an annual drag show at the University of Oklahoma, one of the largest drag shows in the state. The event showcases OU students and local performers while increasing visibility for the LGBTQIA+ community. The event also features internationally recognized drag queens, many of whom have gained fame from the Emmy Award-winning show RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Proudly Gleaming is an annual prom celebration for LGBTQIA+ students and allies. This year, the event will be in the Spring semester. This vibrant event offers an inclusive and joyful space where students can express themselves freely, embrace their identities, and celebrate community. The night will feature student performances, dancing, hors d'oeuvres, light refreshments, and more!
Lavender Celebration is a special event honoring LGBTQIA+ undergraduate and graduate students. Started in 1995 at the University of Michigan, this tradition celebrates the achievements of LGBTQ+ students with their chosen names and pronouns, recognizing their resilience and contributions. We are proud to continue this tradition at the University of Oklahoma.
In addition to signature events, QSA hosts General Body Meetings on the last Thursday of every month (*with exceptions listed below). These meetings offer students the opportunity to learn about LGBTQIA+ topics, connect with peers, discover on- and off-campus resources, and build a supportive community.
FALL 2024 DATES
Pride & Politics is an event designed to engage the community in discussions about LGBTQ+ issues at both the local and state level. The event brings together students, community members, and organizers from local LGBTQ+ organizations to explore the impact of various state and local policies on the LGBTQ+ community. Free food and refreshments are provided.
