I love the variety of people I get to interact with every single day---students, educators, thinkers and doers for all walks of life, and all corners of the globe. I also love the variety of activities that take place every single day.  I can go from a staff meeting to a cultural celebration, to a gymnastics meeting in one day, then guest lecture or conference the next.  There’s always something to do outside of my daily work responsibilities.  There are always new people to meet, and new experiences to share.  I also love the University’s commitment to inclusivity.  Last year, I was able to be part of the Living Library and enjoyed getting to speak with students and fellow staff members to learn about their perspectives and to share mine.  I love that we have people who want to organize such an event, and an administration that supports them.  More than anything, though, I love contributing to the education of students, however small my part may be.  Working at OU isn’t just a place to earn a paycheck, it’s a place that transforms lives and I’m proud I get to be a part of that mission.

It's important to me that there's an open line of communication among staff and between staff and leadership. Being a Senator means I get to interact with people in other departments and we can share our concerns and information with each other. We also have a way to take concerns to leadership. Building relationships is essential and Staff Senate is a great way to do that.

I serve on the Information Technology Council and the Committee on Committees.

When I'm not at work I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two daughters. We love to try new restaurants, attend plays at Sooner Theatre and the Civic Center, and we love to travel to places near and far. In addition to family time, I also love to curl up with a book, take walks, and listen to music.

We have a 14-year-old Basset Hound named Precious.
