In my short tenure at OU, I've helped 100s of employees (faculty, staff, and students) understand their payroll and answer all their questions. Questions over payroll are like a puzzle sometimes and I love being able to solve them.
I've had numerous opportunities over these last 8 years to be able to learn and develop my leadership skills through trainings and to apply those skills in various situations. I really enjoy helping to come up with ways to show staff how appreciated they are by the University and trying to solve the issues that they are having. Being a Senator allows me the opportunity to apply my creative thinking skills to help try and resolve issues that our staff face day to day.
Within the Staff Senate, I am on the Communications Committee and am currently serving my second year as chair of Staff Week Committee. I also am a part of the Strategic Plan Refresh Committee this year.
Outside of OU, I continue my passion of helping people as a personal trainer at Downtown Fitness. I enjoy playing guitar and writing songs with my husband and reading. I’m also an avid fan of fishing, hiking, and traveling the country with my family. I work with Unified Wrestling Oklahoma (professional wrestling) in my free time to book shows and do graphics for them.
I have 5 pets. 3 out of 5 are named after characters from Guardians of the Galaxy. Drax (boy cat), Gamora (girl cat), and Groot who is my full blood black lab. Our other girl cat is named Baby Kitty, and our mix black lab is named Gunner.
