We Went To The 2022 SHPE National Convention!

We had 14 members attend national convention in Charlotte, North Carolina this year. This was an amazing experience for each of them and information will be shared at the next general body meeting (November 30th, REPF 200, 6pm) about what they learned!

We Had Our Spooky October General Body Meeting!

We got to draw our ideas of business attire on spooky skeletons and also see a presentation on Professionalism, Interview Advice, and How to Dress for Success by Alumni Alberto Alonso who graduated last semester in May 2022 and now works at Boeing! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with our undergrad chapter!

We Went to the Region 5 Sub-Regional Retreat!

Our Sub-Region 5 Retreat was on October 22nd on the OU - Tulsa Campus. We covered topics including networking, interview skills, imposter syndrome, and an engineering challenge. We had 5 OU SHPE members and Boeing-OKC SHPE & Familia member Luis Otero attend as well!

We Volunteered at the Norman Second Chance Animal Sanctuary!

We got to exercise and socialize with dogs and cats, restock kennel supplies, and do some kennel cleaning, laundry, and dishes! We love giving back to our local community and this was a great opportunity to help those furry friends who needed a little love and assistance!

We got to take part in the OU Engineering Tunnels of Terror!

Tunnels of Terror is a Halloween event hosted in the tunnels under Carson, Devon, and the REPF. It is hosted by E-Club and SHPE decorated a portion of the tunnels themed around La Llorona. Shoutout to President Christian Newkirk and Academic Excellence Chair Ariel Gillen for representing SHPE at the Tunnels of Terror!

Volunteer for Noche de Ciencias!

Next General Body Meeting

Join us at our next general body meeting on November 30th at 6pm in REPF 200 where we will build community through icebreakers and a professional development activity!
