The Undergraduate Student Congress Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and the appointed chair members of the seven committees meet to discuss legislation and ongoing projects additionally as an Executive Committee.
While each SGA Congress Representative is responsible for primarily advocating on behalf of their districts, Representatives also participate in one of the standing committees. Please see the descriptions below.
Hudson Haskins, Committee Chair
The Campus Outreach Safety and Concerns (COSCO) Committee shall use the Student Congress’s resources to resolve all problems regarding university infrastructure, student experience, and all other student problems that the Student Congress can reasonably respond to. The committee is well known for their regular light walks across campus ensuring lights are on at night for campus safety.
Madeline Cantrell, Committee Chair
The Congressional Administration Committee addresses matters concerning the internal affairs of the SGA, including changes to Bylaws, the SGA Code Annotated, and the SGA Constitution. Always striving to help Congress be more effective; reapportioning Congress seats, regularly filling vacant seats, and appointing Associates.
Marilou Bento, Committee Chair
The External Affairs Committee addresses issues concerning the city, state, and federal governments. The Committee strives to improve the relationship of SGA and OU with the city and state governments, while aiming to improve civic engagement among the student body.
Hope Rhoads, Committee Chair
The Human Diversity Committee shall address any and all issues related to diversity issues within the University of Oklahoma. The Committee shall advocate for policies within the University and within SGA that promote inclusivity and equality.
Rylee Houston, Committee Chair
The Sustainability Committee addresses any issues relating to environmental sustainability within SGA, at OU, or among the student body. The Committee strives to improve environmental consciousness among the undergraduate student body and shall advocate for environmentally conscious policies at the University.
Caleb Robinson, Committee Chair
The University Policy Committee addresses all student concerns about University policies, programs, or the lack thereof. The committee researches practices at peer institutions, innovative solutions, and scientific and social science research to draft resolutions to the University recommending new or refromed policies.
Zuyyin Izza Gulam, Committee Chair
The Ways and Means Committee shall address all matters concerning the expenditure or appropriation of student funds in accordance with the most current provisions of the SGA Code Annotated. With the addition of the GSS Ways and Means Chair, the SGA Budgetary Committee is formed, which is led by the USC WAM Chair.
