NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy Update

NIH has issued an updated Data Management and Sharing (DMS) policy (effective January 25, 2023) to promote the sharing of scientific data. Under the DMS policy, NIH expects investigators and institutions to plan and budget for the managing and sharing of data, submit a DMS plan for review when applying for funding, and comply with the approved DMS plan. This training session provides faculty and staff with information about the policy requirements, data repositories, and budgeting for a DMS plan.

NIH Bio Sketch and Other Support Forms

NIH has updated its requirements (NOT-OD-21-073 and NOT-OD-110) for proposal submissions and award recipients. A new bio sketch template is available, and NIH has issued several Other Support changes including copies of contracts/agreements specific to senior/key-personnel foreign support, appointments and/or employment with a foreign institution for all foreign activities and resources. The training session provides faculty and staff with an understanding of the requirements of both components. The session will include a walk-through of what to include in the NIH Biosketech and Other Support, an explanation of the required changes, and a clarification on effective dates, both federal and for OU.

Submitting Proposals Through Research.gov

This session is focused on the phasing out of NSF FastLane and the introduction of Research.gov. The presenter will provide a comparison of the two systems and some insight into using the new portal.
