Quinnipiac G.A.M.E. Forum

Every year in the spring semester, several finance and/or risk management students get selected to represent the University of Oklahoma at the annual Quinnipiac Global Asset Management Education Forum in New York City. The selection process is rigorous and is administered by the Finance Student Association with the help of a committee that consists of faculty and staff. You must be an FSA member to be eligible to apply. Applications are usually due at the end of January.

Attending the Global Asset Management Education Forum in NYC was an amazing opportunity to learn about investing from the greatest minds in the markets. Where else can one spend a day hearing about lagging Chinese growth from the Senior Investment Strategist at Goldman Sachs or the Fed's shift from linear to factor analysis of economic indicators from Bloomberg's dynamic Tom Keene? The conference was immersive, interactive, and enriching--without a doubt one of the defining moments of my professional life and a highlight of my OU career. It provided many networking opportunities and the privilege of getting to know some of Price College's most distinguished alumni who work on the Street. I learned that Manhattan's fine dining and luxury living are not just attractive but attainable, and the success of the Sooners who came before me makes mine seem all the more certain.

The Quinnipiac G.A.M.E. Forum was an experience of a lifetime as a college student. Not only were we able to hear prestigious speakers on the topics of global markets, investment strategies, global economy and more, but we were also able to meet with OU alumni, tour Bloomberg and experience New York City. I think the most memorable aspect of the trip was just being able to be one of the 1,400 students attending the conference and soak in as much valuable information as possible. I am so grateful for this opportunity The Price College of Business gave us to attend this trip. Overall, this allowed me to expand my view on the opportunities and career paths that finance offers and was able to learn more than I ever thought I could in just three days during this trip.

Traveling to New York City was an amazing experience that I would urge any serious business student at the Price College to look into. This opportunity allowed me to personally connect with OU alumni as well as brilliant finance professionals from all over the world. New York was an inspirational city that has a very unique sense of culture.  The trip motivated me to continue on my desired path to mastering the financial aspects of business. One important part about the trip is that you are surrounded by other ambitious students who share similar goals and dreams. You get to meet many amazing people and learn from some of the most prestigious minds. Overall, the students of Price College are lucky that our university offers such a great opportunity to travel to New York City and I am very thankful that I was a part of this inspirational trip.
