Degree Requirements

The MS in Finance program requires 32 graduate credit hours. In the accelerated BBA/MS FIN option, students complete the BBA and MS in Finance degrees in a combined 5 years by including up to 12 hours for both undergraduate and graduate credit.

Admission Requirements

The accelerated BBA/MS in Finance program is open to current finance or accounting majors at OU who have successfully completed 75 credit hours. 

Admission decisions are based on a number of factors including performance in prior undergraduate/graduate coursework, a GMAT or GRE score (if applicable), employment history, letters of recommendation, and a statement of the applicant’s personal goals.  Admission decisions are generally made on a rolling basis after the application has been received.

GMAT Waivers

Applicants can always opt to submit a GMAT score, but candidates may request a GMAT / GRE waiver. The admissions committee will evaluate waiver applications on a case-by-case basis and waivers are not guaranteed.

If you want to be considered for a GMAT waiver, please select GMAT waiver on the supplemental application. They will take into consideration your finance grades, work experience and other factors when evaluating the waiver request. 

How to Apply

Submit the following materials via e-mail to

  • Submit the application for admission to an accelerated graduate program in business. Completing the application will require:
    • Current resume
      (.pdf or Word)
    • Statement of your career and educational goals
      (1 to 1.5 pages, double-spaced, .pdf or Word format)
  • Official scores from the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) (if applicable)
    • GMAT reporting code  MTP-KM-50
  • Three letters of recommendation, including a minimum of one from an OU finance faculty member. Letter of Recommendation Form
