SECURITY OFFICER (Unarmed)

Security Officer (Unarmed) perform as uniformed, non-commissioned public servant on the Norman Campus academic and housing areas. They perform patrols, respond to fire and emergency calls and assist police operations as directed, as well as other law enforcement and security duties as assigned.

Security Officer applicants should have the ability to: speak clear and concise English; be able to walk, climb stairs, and stand for extended periods of time; hear well and see well (including color, depth perception, and clarity); must be able to lift items weighing 62 pounds or more ; willingness to wear and maintain uniforms, including head covering. Must be willing to conform to a department appearance standard. Some duty time may involve exterior work in inclement, hot, or cold weather.

Security Officer applicants should have no felony convictions, crimes of moral turpitude, or inordinate misdemeanor/traffic convictions (good driving record). Hiring is contingent on police background and records checks. Required applicant documents: Resume and a list of references.

Applicants must obtain a background check packet from the OU Police Department HQ (2775 Monitor Ave., Norman, OK 73072-7857), complete and return it before an interview will be scheduled.




Starting pay: $15.78/hour;  $32,825 per year.
