OUPD is the law enforcement agency of the University of Oklahoma serving the Norman Campus of over 33,000 students, faculty, and staff. It has the responsibility for investigating crimes and for responding to police emergencies. OUPD provides security for all major special events on the OU campus.

OU Police Officers are armed, CLEET certified peace officers. They may be assigned as patrol officers, detectives, or Crime Prevention Officers. Some are assigned to the multi-jurisdiction SWAT team and to the joint Hazardous Devices Unit.

DISPATCHERS - Full Time
We ARE currently hiring for this position.
Dispatchers receive incoming telephone calls, including emergency 911 calls for assistance. Dispatchers operate computer terminals, communicate with other police staff using two-way radios, and communicate with people outside the department including telephone, radio and computer messages.

SECURITY OFFICERS (Unarmed) - Full Time

Security Officers perform as uniformed, non-commissioned public servant on the Norman Campus academic and housing areas. They perform patrols, respond to fire and emergency calls and assist police operations as directed, as well as other law enforcement and security duties as assigned.

Records Assistant - Full Time
We are NOT currently hiring for this position.
The OUPD Records Specialist performs administrative support-oriented duties to include, but not limited to, the management and storage of departmental records following specific rules and instruction. Supports the maintenance and retention of records processing. Provides assistance regarding records management, data entry, and monitoring security cameras. Supports the Records Manager and serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) by fulfilling training and reporting obligations related to campus safety protocols. May assist with emergency calls, service requests, and incident process. Ensures the University complies with all Federal and State laws relating to records management. Hiring contingent upon successful completion of background check to include a successful Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) certification.

NATIONAL WEATHER CENTER (NWC) SECURITY OFFICERS - Full-Time
