Sherry Kast has a long and distinguished career in public relations. Her extensive experience ranges from nonprofit public relations to marketing at a Fortune 200 company to international PR. Throughout her career, she has garnered more than 100 awards for campaigns, writing, layout and design, and fundraising. Top honors include winning a Bronze Anvil by PRSA in 2002, the Paul E. Dannelley Harmony Award in 2013 from the Oklahoma City PRSA Chapter, and the Henry Zarrow Award for Outstanding Leadership and Dedication by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Sooner Chapter, in 2017. Her love for public relations is driven by a desire to give back to the community. She has mentored numerous young professionals in Oklahoma City, Nashville and Chattanooga, Tennessee by helping them attain their Accreditation in Public Relations. Additionally, Sherry’s nonprofit and volunteer work has generated more than $2.1 million to help charitable causes near and dear to her heart. Prior to joining the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Oklahoma in August 2022, Sherry served as an adjunct faculty member for six years. She considers herself blessed to be able to share her knowledge and experience with the next generation of PR practitioners.
