Robert Pritchard teaches JMC 5413 Crisis Communication. Prior to his arrival at the University of Oklahoma, he was an Associate Professor and Public Relations Sequence Coordinator at Ball State University in Muncie, IN from 2001-2009.
He has also worked as the Director of Public Affairs, U.S. European Command in Stuttgart, Germany from 1999-2001, the Chief, Public Affairs, U.S. Strategic Command in Omaha, Nebraska 1995-1999, and the Deputy Chief of Public Affairs, U.S. Pacific Command in Honolulu, Hawaii from 1992-1995.
He was recognized at the PRSSA 2011 National Conference for 10 years of service as a Chapter Faculty Adviser., was presented the 2010 Teaching SuPRstar Award by the Public Relations Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, and in November 2010, was selected as the 2011–2013 PRSSA National Faculty Adviser.
He earned his M.A. in Public Relations from Ball State University.
