Fisher teaches Advertising Research on the undergraduate level, and Digital Behavior and Digital Strategic Communication in the online MA program, among others. Prior to joining Gaylord on a full-time basis, he taught as an adjunct for a number of years after completing his M.A. in Strategic Communication, and served as Director of Communications for the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber. Prior to that he served as Senior Marketing Manager for the Chamber, focusing on economic development marketing, and as a project manager for CHS and Associates, working in the marketing and political research industry. He has also held consulting and freelance positions for various firms involved in research and advertising, and developed sales, training and management experience in his early career at a Big 3 wireless carrier. Fisher completed his doctoral dissertation on podcast advertising, parasocial relationships, and value co-creation, and has published/presented peer-reviewed papers on podcast engagement and advertising, corporate apologia and cancel culture, perceptions of AI-generated ads / SERPs, social media-based brand engagement, influencer marketing and more.
