Mary Anna Evans' novels have received recognition including two Oklahoma Book Awards, the Will Rogers Medallion Award Gold Medal, the Benjamin Franklin Award, and the Mississippi Author Award. Her fiction has earned favorable mentions in national publications including the Washington Post, the New York Times, Publishers Weekly, and Kirkus Reviews, receiving starred reviews from Booklist and Library Journal. Her academic research on Agatha Christie includes co-editing the first single-volume comprehensive compilation of scholarly work on the bestselling author of all time, the Bloomsbury Handbook to Agatha Christie, which was a finalist for four international prizes, the Edgar, Agatha, Macavity, and HRF Keating Awards. Her shorter works have appeared in publications including The Atlantic, Plots with Guns, Brutal and Strange: Stories Inspired by the Songs of Elvis Costello, Monkeybicycle, decomP, and Flyway: Journal of Writing and Environment. She is a frequent invited speaker throughout the United States on topics including fiction, creative nonfiction, crime fiction, creative writing, and literacy.
