As proud graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Carl was excited to be asked to join Gaylord as an adjunct professor in the Fall of 2022 before becoming a permanent faculty member in 2024.  He transitioned to teaching full-time at Gaylord College after spending three decades working in the private sector, primarily in leadership positions with large and mid -size advertising agencies in Chicago, Dallas and Austin. Carl’s focus both for his career, as well as here at Gaylord, will cover topics such as strategic communication planning, marketing research, concept development, and management.   He is also active on committees within Gaylord helping to shape a forward-looking curriculum that will continue to position Gaylord graduates for success in an extremely dynamic advertising and marketing ecosystem.

While still maintaining his professional responsibilities, he previously taught part time as an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate Strategic Communication Program at Sothern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.  It was here that he became truly passionate about one day pursuing a second career in academia.

Carl has also served in leadership positions with Dallas Ad League, Dallas Business Committee for the Arts, and The Shakespeare Festival of Dallas.
