Dr. Maeghan N. Hennessey is an associate professor of Science of Psychology, Data, and Research in Education in the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education at the University of Oklahoma. She served as department chair in Educational Psychology from July 2020 through July 2024.

Her research interests include teacher and student epistemic practices, components of effective teaching and transition education, argumentation and persuasion, educational measurement and evaluation, and the use of high-stakes assessments and related educational policy. She currently is the Co-Principal Investigator and primary methodologist on a four-year, $2.1 million dollar grant funded by the Institute of Education Sciences' National Center for Special Education Research, with a purpose of designing assessments to identify the skills and behaviors students with mild and moderate disabilities need in order to have successful employment and educational outcomes after high school.
