The organizations that lead in the 21st century and beyond must be flexible, transformative, and responsive. OU prepares college of education graduate students, regardless of program, to work in a range of settings, such as education institutions, non-profits, small businesses, and even large corporations.

Masters in Education, M.Ed.

The M.Ed. emphasizes critical inquiry through activities and research to prepare educators to lead and manage complex organizations. The program suits working professionals expected to serve with distinction in demanding positions while completing the degree. The degree is a building and/or district-level leadership skills program approved by the Oklahoma State Department of Education for certification purposes. Mentored, organized fieldwork is an integral part of the program.

Doctorate in Education, Ed.D.

Classes meet once a month on Saturdays.

The Executive Ed.D. emphasizes technical knowledge and applied research skills to prepare administrators to lead and manage complex organizations. The program suits working professionals expected to serve with distinction in demanding positions while completing the degree. The degree is a district-level leadership skills program approved by the Oklahoma State Department of Education for certification purposes. Mentored, organized fieldwork is an integral part of the program.

Doctorate in Philosophy, Ph.D.

The EACS faculty comprises scholars and practitioners committed to providing an enriched curriculum to equip Ph.D. students with the habits of mind, habits of hand, and habits of the heart needed to develop stewards of the discipline (as termed by the Carnegie Foundation).

My time in the program was pivotal in shaping my thinking, leadership, and life trajectory as an educator, an administrator, a catalyst for change and development, and a school pioneer.
